Camera. Mic. Speaker.

ViewCam turns your phone into a complete A/V peripheral — no cables, no drivers to configure, no cloud. Pick the mode you need, or run all three simultaneously.

Virtual Camera

Your phone's camera, as a webcam

The phone's rear or front camera streams directly to your desktop as a system webcam — recognised by every app the moment you select it.

  • 4K · 60 FPS over local WiFi
  • Works in Zoom, OBS, Teams, Discord & more
  • Torch, focus lock, HDR & lens flip from desktop
  • Adaptive bitrate — clamps to network conditions
Virtual Microphone

Studio-grade wireless microphone

Your phone's mic registers as a virtual audio input on your desktop. Pick from 7 professional capture modes and fine-tune the signal in real time.

  • 7 modes: Default, Voice, Raw, Performance, Recognition, Camcorder, Mic
  • Noise suppression & echo cancellation
  • Automatic gain control
  • Volume boost up to +50 dB
Virtual Speaker

Desktop audio through your phone

Route your desktop's audio output to your phone's speakers wirelessly. Your phone appears as a system output device — select it like any Bluetooth speaker.

  • Music, Voice & Custom presets
  • 10 kbps (VoIP) to 450 kbps (near-CD quality)
  • Lossless uncompressed option
  • Low / Medium / High buffer — tune latency vs stability

The webcam was already in your pocket.

Under 15ms over local WiFi

ViewCam streams frames directly between your phone and desktop — no relay servers, no internet required. The result is near-zero lag you can't tell from a wired camera.

Virtual camera — works everywhere

ViewCam registers as a real system webcam using v4l2loopback (Linux) or DirectShow (Windows). Open Zoom, Teams, OBS, or any app — your phone appears as a camera in the list.

Full camera control from desktop

Toggle the torch, lock focus, lock exposure, flip lenses — all from the desktop app. No need to touch the phone once it's set up and streaming.

100% local. Nothing leaves your network.

No accounts. No cloud uploads. No subscription required to use the core product. Your video feed never touches the internet — it stays between your devices, on your local network.

Seven mic modes, one tap to switch

Default for everyday calls, Voice Communication for echo-cancelled video conferencing, Raw for unprocessed signal capture, Voice Performance for live singing, Voice Recognition for speech-to-text, Camcorder for stereo video, and a generic Mic mode. Switch modes live — no reconnect needed.

Bitrate from VoIP to near-CD — your call

Speaker mode lets you set exactly how much bandwidth you want to spend on audio. 10 kbps for VoIP-quality background audio, 128 kbps for music, 450 kbps when you want every detail. Or go fully uncompressed. Three audio output engines — AudioTrack, AAudio, and OpenSL ES — cover everything from modern to legacy Android hardware.

Three steps, then you're live.

1

Install the desktop app

Download ViewCam for Windows or Linux. Launch it — it automatically sets up the virtual camera driver.

2

Open ViewCam on your phone

Launch the ViewCam app on your iPhone or Android. Both devices need to be on the same WiFi network.

3

Select your phone in any app

Your phone appears as "ViewCam" in every app's camera list. Select it in Zoom, OBS, Teams — and you're streaming.

Common questions.

Yes. ViewCam registers as a real virtual camera device — the same way a dedicated webcam appears. Any app with a camera input (Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, OBS, Streamlabs, Discord, Skype, etc.) will see it in the device list.
No. The video stream goes directly from your phone to your desktop over your local WiFi. Nothing is sent to the internet. Even device discovery is done via local UDP broadcast — no cloud servers involved.
On a typical home WiFi network, latency is under 15ms end-to-end. On a modern 5GHz WiFi 6 router, it can drop to 8–10ms. For video calls and streaming, this is imperceptible.
macOS desktop and iOS mobile support are in development. The current release covers Windows and Linux desktops with Android as the mobile sender. Sign up to be notified when macOS and iOS launch.
On Linux, ViewCam uses v4l2loopback — the installer handles this automatically. On Windows, a DirectShow virtual camera filter is registered during install. You don't need to install anything manually.
Free gives you 720p at 30 FPS — more than enough for calls and basic streaming. Pro unlocks 4K resolution, 60 FPS, hardware-accelerated decoding (GPU), and remote camera controls (torch, focus lock, HDR, lens flip) from the desktop.
Yes. ViewCam registers your phone as a virtual audio input device on your desktop (WASAPI on Windows, ALSA/PulseAudio on Linux). Any app that accepts a microphone — Discord, Zoom, Teams, OBS, DAWs — will see "ViewCam Microphone" in its input device list. Free users get the Default capture mode; Pro unlocks all seven modes, automatic gain control, noise suppression, and volume boost up to +50 dB.
Yes. Speaker mode routes your desktop's audio output to your phone wirelessly — your phone appears as "ViewCam Speaker" in your system's audio output device list. You control the bitrate (10 kbps for VoIP-quality up to 450 kbps near-CD, or fully uncompressed), choose a preset (Voice, Music, Custom), and pick the audio engine (AudioTrack, AAudio, or OpenSL ES for legacy hardware). Free users get standard quality; Pro unlocks the full bitrate and preset range.
Yes. All three modes run simultaneously over a single connection. Connect once in ViewCam and your desktop sees three virtual devices: a webcam, a microphone, and a speaker — all from one phone. Switch between the Camera, Audio, and Options tabs on the phone app without interrupting any stream.
